I'm being a bit lazy with my blog reently now im back in England, but there is very little to report really so heres what we can expect as we head into the final quater of '07.

September
24th > Sugababes new single 'About You Now; released.
New britney video coming soon...?

October
2nd > Britney's 'Gimme More' is available as legal download.
7th > Sugababes new album Change released.
Kylie and Girls Aloud's new video will be all over youtube.

November
5th > Kylie's new single '2 Hearts' download available.
12th > Girls Aloud's new 2nd single 'Call the Shots' will be released.
Britney's fifth studio album, Pieces of Me is likely to be released.
Kylie's single '2 Hearts' physical release.
19th > Girls Aloud 4th Album released.
21st > Kylies new album released?

In between these dates Britney will leak every track she halfheartedly warbled on until we possibly hear the finished album...Girls Aloud will promote themselves on any tv show available... Sugababes will sit back and watch the sales roll in after getttin their material out so soon... Kylie will reveal a killer video and generate enough buzz to go to number one on downloads alone...and Madonna will quietly postpone her new album untill the new year.

Hype Round Up

As things wind down for me in Japan, the pop musics biggest hitters are staging their returns to the pop stage.

The year had been hijacked by Rihanna and Duff, Sophie Ellis and Siobhan, but now the UK's biggest girlbands of the century Sugababes (see below) are already one amazing single into their new album promotion. But right now put down those dancing shoes and go buy Girls Aloud (see woolworths and also below) get it if only to hear 'Dog Without A Bone' in better quality than this here clip:

Our Queen and Crown Princess of pop, Madonna and Kylie meanwhile slowly build anticipation for massive album drops in the next few months but all eyes this week have been upon Britney as she manages to outdo any contender in the hype department.

The Legendary Miss Britney Spears had three years to build anticipation for this release and while every wrong step she makes in the public eye seems to spell doom on her career, the worlds best producers know exactly who to give their tracks too in order to get their beats heard...

Well done Robyn for being number one! Charts don't really matter to me but its nice to have a good pop star that i love as number 1 in a chart that recognises sales- from a track that most fans have had for months- so its nice that she will find a whole new audience, even my mum is telling me about robyn. this number one could be a great re-kick start to her career in the UK, but for anyone newly loving Robyn, check out her back catalogue its great pop.

The 3.0's get another stab at the charts, its not out for ages but u can her a low quality 30seconds at heatworld, it will be played on jo whiley AND scott mills tomorrow, I'm tempted to say i like it but its a little early yet...leak pending...single out Sept 24th

i love this video, it makes me very excited about the new Girls Aloud album, after enough time to digest it Ive decided this is exactly what i wanted from a girls aloud track and hope its a good intro to the album. single is out Sept 3rd / album November 19 so hopefully have a new track announced for Oct hehe.

Rant! No No No...

After living through my first blogging weekend with a new leaked track from an eagerly awaited album, i cant help seeing flaws in the Record Sales Industry more clearly than ever.

After more than 60 plays, in just two days, on my itunes- ive overdosed on it and this song has gone into temporary retirement; albeit only until the video appears. That could be later this week. But thats still 5weeks of solid promotion before it hits the shops.

It's allready had a Radio1 exclusive first play and a T4 on the Beach live showcase.

In today's world all thats left is a slot on Loose Women and a slow climb to the many mtvstyle charts.

All my talk about it not being the most immediate track- perhaps warrent it needing to imbed in our consciousness for a month untill they open the starting gates and we all rush to buy it.

However, fans of the Girl's in question have been wanting a track for months, and had sales started this weekend im sure we'd have all payed the going rate and added to both the sales and buzz of this pop single. In a world where making money relies upon supply and demand then surely industry people need to recongise the intesnity of demand for this track will never be higher than it was this weekend.

I think we need all soon to be released songs available to buy the moment their ready for consumption- thats not to say they should hastilly find themselves rushed toward us; just that they should be initially published with all accompanying artwork and videos in sync.

At the moment internet fans are just seen as the initial tier of pop consumption and are expected to act as a catlyst for creating buzz around a track for it to pass to the trogs using print and traditonal media. That means our views, while important, are secondary to the moneymakers, they turn a blind eye to our fanaticism for thier bands becuase while we possess illegal downloads were also naive enough to go and support our favourite bands upon physical release as well- feeding us with remixes and b-sides to justify our wait in promotions limbo to appease our download guilt.

Im sure if the track in question was made available to buy - even retaining the one week ahead online release- that is allready accepted practice- then the demand for this track would have ensured a bigger impact for the track than whatever positon and sales record it will eventually amass.

Saturday Review: 'Sexy! No No No...'

Girl's Aloud, 'Sexy! No No No...'

There's only one story dominating today's world of pop...

The after school rush has seemingly put a halt to popjustice's forum, as Girls Aloud fans: decide where this ranks in the Aloud cannon, madly try to decipher the lyrics, and figure out where Sarah Harding sings on this track.

After only 17 plays and counting here's my view already.

This song isn't as immediate as most of the Girl's previous tracks, seemingly because the vocals are so layered, and covered by an immense wall of sound, that its hard to figure out the lyrics. I wonder if this is where the title comes from with the 'No No No' being the most easily singalong able part... along with the sexy! at 1.27 and the intermittant woo woos- although for me they slip in and out between listens.

While this may seem to be its flaw, its also wherein lies its charm. Every time i listen i hear different lines and different aspects of the song. Critically there is no hook. Its catchy and draws you in but its as radical as 'Sexyback', and beats hands down 'Biology' for daring to break the pop mould in ways only wet dreamed about.

The Girls, and perhaps here more importantly their producers: the oft lauded Xenomania, deserve full respect this time for this track. Too often our love of pop hyperbole heralds Xenomania as the stardust that can make any pop dud sparkle, but here they truly prove their inventive worth.

Maybe my copy isnt the full single, because the structure seems like we could go ten more rounds of this. Not long past the 3minute mark the song cuts out leaving us wanting more. Maybe thats its beauty, it does feel like both promo wise and possibly on the album that this is the 3minute foreplay leading into a fresh sound that seems to revel in the harder and darker themes that we've only glimpsed from the Girls before.

Popjustice have heard the new Girls Aloud track and their comment make the anticipation so much more... and then Moyles will play it tomorrow morning which is surely one way to force gays to listen to his homophobic outbursts.

If i was home id be adamant id wait for Scott Mills to play it, but as im 50 days from England ill just wait till some kind person sends it to the online.
