Apparently people are saying Kate Nash and Fergie almost toppled Rihanna in the last few weeks, truth is she still can't be beat. 9 weeks on Rihanna is selling less and less, down to 23,092 copies sold. This is the lowest sales figure of a number one this year, (not quite as bad as Orson's 17,000 last year) but to suggest the number two records are big hitters themselves is a mistake.
If she lasts another week she bests Gnarls Barkely's record as longest number one this century. hehe sounds suitably hyperbolic.
while it would be unfair on the other chart botherers, a surprise release of a 'Don't Stop the Music' video and simultaneous itunes release could ensure she's number one next week albeit with a different track.
